UCSB Professor Elected to National Academy of Sciences

(Santa Barbara, Calif.) – Two prominent UC Santa Barbara professors have been elected to the National Academy of Sciences, as has a leading stem cell researcher who is an adjunct professor at UCSB. They are among a total of 72 new members elected to the prestigious academy today in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.

(Santa Barbara, Calif.) –– A tough early life turns out to be a good thing for a fish, according to scientists at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
They discovered that fish larvae that survive a long, rough, offshore journey eventually arrive at a near shore reef in good condition, and that they thrive afterwards.
