Abstract

This project aims at contributing to the development of mathematical models with which the potential of biocides and pesticides to act as endocrine disruptors of fish and amphibian metabolism and development can be evaluated, in particular (but not exclusively) with respect to results from toxicity tests as set forthin OECD guidelines for the testing of chemicals. Experiments other than computer simulations are not part of this project; experimental information needed for this project will be collected from the published literature, databases and other sources. Project outcomes are expected to be relevant for species other than fish and amphibians and for compounds without endocrine disrupting activity, and to advance the general knowledge base of environmental toxicology and ecotoxicology. The results and conclusions from the project, as well as the computer code developed for it, will be published in peer-reviewed literature and publicly accessible databases unconditionally and without requirement of consent of the sponsor.
