The UCSB Marine Microbiome and Virome Lab, led by subcontract co-PI Rebecca Vega Thurber, will be responsible for several aspects of the proposals aims including: 1) assisting in the community discussions/workshops about which regional specimen will be targeted, 2) sampling, processing, and preparing hologenome samples for sequencing 3) analyzing, interpreting and disseminating sequence and genome information about bacterial components of the hologenomes 4) and coordination with the other teams on the how data will be generated, managed, stored, and released to interested parties and if agreed upon the public.
