The proposed project will address these needs by extending partnerships, providing new information on dune restoration trajectories and responses to disturbance events, and developing scientifically informed workflows and best practices for using dunes to enhance resilience on urban coastlines. Specifically, our activities will focus on 2 main research objectives:
1) Co-design site suitability and performance assessment frameworks for evaluating dune restoration projects on urban beaches with community partners and end users.
2) Enhance empirical understanding of dune restoration trajectories and responses to disturbance with detailed surveys from pilot sites.
