The Pacific Coast Ocean Restoration Initiative (PCOR Initiative) is a comprehensive, collaborative statewide effort aimed at restoring and recovering marine ecosystems across California. The Initiative is being launched by a coalition of partners, including The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), California Ocean Protection Council (OPC), Greater Farallones Association (GFA), The Bay Foundation, Mendocino College, Aquarium of the Pacific, the California Academy of Sciences, Sunflower Star Laboratory, Paua Marine Research Group and University of California Santa Barbara. The PCOR Initiative aims to bring together resource managers, tribal representatives, community leaders, restoration practitioners, industry partners, and academics to catalyze and coordinate large-scale restoration efforts to recover critical rocky reef and kelp forest habitats, and associated species in California.
