UC Santa Barbara will meet quarterly with the Southern California Province Ecologist to review progress and set timelines for delivery of products, and UC SANTA BARBARA will generate and deliver an annual progress report to the FOREST SERVICE. UC Santa Barbara will hire field crews to begin work in late spring-early summer and will carry out all direct crew supervision and logistical support, and pay the members of the field crews. The U.S. Forest Service will train field personnel in forest, shrubland and grassland survey methodology, establish the program of work for field crew at the beginning of the study and help onboard through organized trainings with the Regional Ecologist and Los Padres National Forest staff. The U.S. Forest Service will collaborate with UC Santa Barbara in data entry, data analysis and reports. U.S. Forest Service staff and UC Santa Barbara will co-author publications resulting from this collaboration, and both will participate in dissemination of results to fire and resource managers through site visits and presentations.
