Chris Free is Research Faculty at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has a PhD in Oceanography from Rutgers University and a BA in Conservation Biology from Middlebury College. His research program is focused on understanding the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems and food systems and on designing and testing management strategies that support coastal communities. Chris is passionate about actionable and reproducible ocean science and serves on the Scientific and Statistical Committee for the Pacific Fisheries Management Council.
