IIJA funds will support critical hardware upgrades of five HFRs operated by the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). These HFRs, like most radars in the IOOS network, consist of CODAR SeaSonde systems. Upgrading these systems will ensure their continued operation. They will also allow UCSB personnel to replace aging infrastructure at SW station to improve its reliability and ensure delivery of these essential observations. During year 1, UCSB personnel will install new compressed air systems to mitigate biofouling at the four SCCOOS pier sites. During year 2, UCSB personnel will install a new fluorometer and a new pier clamp at the SW site.
